What PYURIFI can do
- Create camp time for fishing, beer drinking, cooking, snacking, camp games, napping instead of pumping water by yourself down by the river….
- Removes 99.9999% of Bacteria, 99.99% of cysts and 99.999% of viruses from fresh surface water. These results exceed EPA standards for filtered drinking water. Surface water is water in a stream, creek or lake. When looking for a water source you should find the clearest moving water source that you can. A good rule of thumb is if you are standing in water up to your mid shin and can’t see your feet, you might want to choose another source, or you will need to allow the water to settle for a while before filtering it. It’s not to say that Pyurifi can’t handle it but as turbidity and dissolved solids in the water (how dark the water is) increases, the efficacy of the UV treatment will reduce. This is particularly regarding virus reduction (in our tests highly turbid water can reduce virus reduction to about 99.94%.)
- The carbon filter reduces turbidity and helps to improve the flavor of the water.
- It will run for about 3 hours straight on the battery. At peak performance that is around 45 gallons of fresh, clean, safe water.
- A solar panel or other 12vdc source that will supply 3amps of current at 12vdc will power the unit all on its own. (This is about a 40watt panel).
